They charge just as much, maybe less sometimes but what you get is just crap. The complaint's about the China stuff is deep. Sending stuff over there to be made is killing our country damnit!!
I have 2 black craftsman jacks, they have worked for me for 10 years. There heavy, but don't leak. Buy a used one from a garage sale or craigslist, thats where i La Sal - Musa del agua mine and i have to have at least 2. I don't know where you can get a jack that is decent, OTC maybe?
At least before we had a choice to buy. Now, it is Made In The Usa - Ivory Jack - Made In The Usa china or nothing. JDNobodiDec 11, Well, it seems OTC makes all kind of different kinds of jacks. Probably the cheaper ones gray ones are made in china. Made in USA and cheap???
Being idealistic can be a conflict sometimes. If the "Made in the USA" part is a requirement, the "cheap" part isn't nearly as likely. All things being equal, I'd buy an American-made part over Made In The Usa - Ivory Jack - Made In The Usa foreign one I guess the best you can hope for these days is that you at least get the quality that you paid for. Greg72Dec 11, I think the only thing that Craftsman makes in the US anymore are their hand tools.
Pretty sure that everything else went over seas. Swerve -For your safety, stay where it's safe. SwerveDec 11, I would take a rebuilt USA made product over made in China anyday. Used made in USA jacks are hard and good to come by. Classifieds will turn up some results.
Huelga De Mujers - Sonora Veracruz De Pepe Vallejo - La Mejor Sonora Del Mundo seems pretty clear now how made in China is affecting our economy.
Good luck with your search. CUCV2Dec 11, Build s : 1. I have a 3. Build s : 3. I bought a Harbor Freight floor jack over two years ago and it's still holding it's own. I figured it would get me by for a while but it's still working great. I've never had a leak and I don't have any problem jacking up the front of my k and with the BB that sucker is heavy.
Avery4jcDec 11, I think Dan at Ruff Stuff Specialties should make them out of the grade 50 structural steel he uses for his parts. Weld them up with a good Hydraulic jack pump, and powdercoat them. I would buy one. He asked about American Made. Harbor Freight is definately not American made. BKinzeyDec 11, I have the cheapo Harbor Freight special 2 ton floor jack that has given me zero problems in the last 20 years.
Maybe i got lucky but it has never leaked or failed me yet. Try leaving a jack in a shop that freezes nights a year. They all leak. I buy only American made guns.
