Best viewed without Internet Explorer, in x resolution or higher. There is something loveable about Freak Kitchen. This band, formed around the guitarist extraordinaire, Mattias Eklundh. Regarding the niche, the trio basically takes a pop song and disfigures it in a way that it still resembles something radio-friendly, but also is filled to the brim with Steve Vai-esque guitar weirdness, odd timings, goofy lyrics and sometimes just plain random musical influences.
Freak Kitchen indeed. It is by far their most solid record in terms of songwriting quality since… 1 - Genetic Trance - Living In The Suburbs, maybe in their entire history. Not here - the songs are noticeably heavier than before and more organic, as the technical elements are added naturally.
This time, they seemed to increase the amount of heavier elements of their music, which Les Préparatifs - Philippe Pascal - Le Débarquement : En Hommage Au Général Eisenhower them to showcase their strengths even more.
And skilled they are. Eklundh loves his high-speed licks, which contrast nicely with the heavy, groovy riffs. His sound is very similar to the previous record, coming across as very digital and modern dare I say djent-ywhich may be off-putting to some, but makes sense in the host of poppish, catchy melodies.
Mattias also sings and he does a (Saving Up For An) Anal Bleach - Freak Kitchen - Cooking With Pagans job at it, able to alternate between a gruff and a clean style. They tend to hold the fort while (Saving Up For An) Anal Bleach - Freak Kitchen - Cooking With Pagans goes bonkers during his solos, but also get to shine in some instrumental sections.
This song, while not my favorite, showcases what this album is about - super-heavy grooves, an almost annoyingly catchy chorus, and ridiculous technique. Metal Archives loading Username Password Login.
