These milestone recordings with an unmeasurable historical value have never been released in any format ever and this is only the second time that avant-garde and experimental electronic Slovak composers have been exposed, united on one medium, to the world. While on Series 1 self-made studio equipment and electronic devices was the norm for recordings made in the '60s and '70s in Bratislava, we can see now the use of Western equipment like the Studer with console etc. Sound art gradually found its firm place in the Slovak culture.
All the recordings are strictly analog -- recorded and produced with analog equipment only! Limited numbered edition of LPs with CD included. While most tracks have been shortened to fit on the LP, the CD includes all tracks in their full original length.
Includes works by Milan Adam? Mullinix presented the idea of working on a series of rhythms he had made in the style of the mid-'80s early digital age of Jamaican producers starting with Prince Jammy's "Sleng Teng" in One very intense week later, Mullinix and Meteo mixed down about 15 tracks of original dub beats that included handmade recordings of guitars, organs, keys, off-beats, and melodies with plenty of echoes, delays, drop-outs, and the vintage character of the Berlin studio.
With the exception of two tracks they contributed to compilations released by labels run by mutual friends Monkeytown and ShitkatapultMullinix and Meteo never put these recordings out for others to hear. The two maintained a strong friendship, and eventually decided that it was the right time to release a complete album featuring six of the recordings plus two alternate mixes. Listening to Good Star Dubs in its final form, the music seems to have even more bittersweet deepness, rolling out touching basslines, deep space echoes, and a reductive, intense musical approach.
He is probably best known for his advances in hip-hop production as Dabrye on Ghostly International. Meteo lives in Berlin and runs the record labels Shitkatapult and Albumlabel.
Meteo has released two solo albums and several others as half of the duo Bus, a collaboration What A Wonderful World - Art Garfunkel - Bright Eyes Sun Electric's Tom Thiel.
Devils tunes. Includes download code. Not just sheet music but a multifaceted compendium, richly designed with photos, writings, and sketches, for anyone to pick through, enjoy, and make their own. The more than works range from raw sonic materials to conceptual musics, fragments, suggestions, itineraries, and completed compositions, containing no secret codes other than my own DNA.
They can be played as is, recomposed, looped, arranged, freely improvised on, remixed, layered, spatialized, staged, troped on, or tripped on. A resource and source of pleasure for composers, performers, improvisers, sound artists, scholars, teachers of composition and improvisation, fans, amateurs, terminal avant-gardists, bloggers, buskers, and art book lovers. In some of the 9 sections the music is written out for piano, but the possibilities of instrumentation are limited only by the imagination.
The first section consists of sequences, simple strings of single tones that can be used to form looping patterns or as melodic or harmonic generators.
The mels were born as pure monophonic melodies but can also be played in quasi-unison by multiple instruments, or overlaid in precise or random ways. The next sections are octaves rarefied pieces featuring the octave or extended octave intervalmusic for two parts just thatand beats regular and irregular rhythmical patterns that swing, mostly but not only for percussion instruments.
The strummz, alternating or rapidly repeated tones or chords, can be used by any chord-capable instrument or ensemble. The 3- and 4-part chorales in choral reefs, for any instruments or voices, bring triadic harmony to another brink.

This fakebook is a democratic compost heap of musical scraps in the grand tradition of American experimental music. Joined by an armada of friends and hangers-on -- including Tim Green of the Fucking Champs who also produced and Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance soon to be a permanent member -- the band erects towering tombs of natural ethereal beauty and pure sonic destruction set above a cosmic freight train of unhinged riffs and jagged grooves. And their drummer is more than happy to perform naked, you don't even have to ask.
Basic Channel have pressed a new 12" vinyl with three tracks taken from the original Basic Channel BCD compact disc that so far hadn't been available on vinyl. Atmospheric field recordings invite their listeners to stay a while -- right before the dub beats reliably push the tempo. So get in, take a seat, and let yourself go. Your journey begins here. Beginning with "The Singing Bile" -- minimal synth submerged and subjected to an almost oceanic pressure -- the tracks are mostly crude, extended live improvisations, recorded straight to tape.
Martin's loose intention was to subtract himself from proceedings and "let the music play itself," but the erasure is not quite complete; on the contrary, each piece feels distinctly authored, and charged with personal significance.
The album is largely instrumental, but there are two weighty exceptions: the sprawling, drumbox-driven space blues of "Little Jammy Centre" and the guileless yearning of "Stripping At The Nail. Expansive and enveloping, Memory Care Unit's offering of comfort and refuge is difficult to resist. But this amniotic idyll is frayed and haunted at its edges, and ultimately treacherous. The return to innocence it promises may be possible, but the price is separation, alienation, and loss. Housed in full-color reverse-board sleeve with printed inner sleeve.
Haikai No Ku take no prisoners and show no remorse with Temporary Infinity, delivering 40 minutes of warped and disturbed hallucinogenic punishment. Their sound is not for the faint-hearted, but has inspired a cult following among those who enjoy their music twisted.
Artwork and design by Pete Burn. The pair met through Clarke's White Noise radio show in but it wasn't until a couple of years later that they began working together. With three unrelenting original productions and a remix courtesy of Housemeister, Penultimate is a confident reminder of Clarke and Mr. Jones's fierce style and abilities. Immolate Yourself unites ten tracks with the aim to give the term "electro-pop" a new definition for the year Although each track has its own story to tell, together they paint a bigger picture that encapsulates the Telefon Tel Aviv sound.
Arguably the album's standout track "Helen of Troy" -- a driving, moody and muddled piece, full of '80s aesthetics, vintage synths and low, romantic vocals -- was in fact the last track to be finished, and in a way, marked the climax and formed the basis of the whole work. With this release, Telefon Tel Aviv make a statement that combines popular dance music with their own darker reflections on the electronic sound universe.
Kluster were responsible for El Teléfono - Orquesta Tipica Ideal - ¡Charangas! The Best Of Tipica Ideal milestones of electronic music. Schnitzler quit the band two years later, leaving Roedelius and Moebius to carry on as Cluster.
The duo again became a trio inwhen multi-instrumentalist Armin Metz joined Qluster's ranks. Echtzeit is Qluster's sixth album. Yet Roedelius's favorite instrument, the piano, also receives its due. Large parts of the album were recorded in a church. The pieces on their albums are passages taken from long improvisations that feature a special atmosphere and engaging patterns or figures. Playful experimentation with new instruments and effects or settings is often what leads to the creative spark.
Despite their high affinity for experimentation, the term "experimental music" would be misplaced here. Dissonance, noises, or glitch sounds Intro - Totenhaus - Slit Your Throat largely absent.
Includes CD. Tapping, scratching, scraping, plucking; working with the wooden body and steel strings led to the building blocks of a broad sonic spectrum, which Klein then brushed against the grain with his sampler.
Klein also expanded his drum set; a homemade, electronically manipulated Love Me Tender - Elvis* - Snowbird Revisited percussion setup, consisting of utilitarian objects such as a tin can or a wooden board, opened the sonic palette to previously unheard, weightless grooves.
This percussive spectrum has been tested and proven live, and spreads a rhythmic gravity that remains accessible despite its experimental basis. The music is interspersed with the Do The Belly Roll - Frankie Paul & Little John - Show-Down Vol.
6 of time -- dust, patina, rust -- from the world of machines and the mechanical interplay of gears and pistons. Noise, heat, and vapor add to this associative field of inspiration. The Steam Age is an attempt to lend a voice to friction-generating mechanics, motors, and movements that audibly assert themselves against opposing forces and sometimes grind to a stutter.
The titles of the tracks -- "Steamfield" and "Atomium," for example -- refer to the overarching concept. With titles like "Nostalghia," they even go so far as to reference cinema, alluding in this case to Andrei Tarkovsky's work of the same name and taking the chain of associations beyond the music.
The mysterious rumbling within, beneath, and above the 11 pieces creates an additional mysterious motoric aura. Yet it also feels familiar, revealing emotional depths that invite the listener to surrender to trust. This music is devoted to a pre-digital machine aesthetic that does not refrain from occasionally toying ironically with the evocation of the analog and handmade.
The dark space between the sounds leaves room for anyone to add their own imagination and give in to the endless breath of the machines. Remastered from the original master tapes. Limited edition of numbered copies. Macchi was born in Grosseto, Italy, inand studied composition, piano, violin, and singing in Rome with, among others, Roman Vlad and Hermann Scherchen. Some riffs in a Black Sabbath style anticipate what would be defined, decades later, as "stoner rock. Bassist Cheick Siriman Sissoko is also a well-known singer.
These three are a power trio on the level of Cream or Band of Gypsies. The songs tell a story of hope for peace and normalcy despite the seemingly insurmountable challenges. Fairmont's remix of "Angora" has a Mel Smith - They Call Me Shadrach / Dance In The Dark Border Community vibe -- dark but at the same time pushing and hedonistic.
